Day 2: The White City & the Royal Capital

After breakfast, your guide and driver collect you for a morning in Casablanca. The centrepiece is the magnificent Hassan II Mosque — the second largest mosque in Africa and seventh in the world, its 210-metre minaret the tallest on earth, crowned by a laser beam directed nightly towards Mecca. Explore the ornate Habous district, where French colonial planning meets traditional Moroccan craftsmanship in a charming architectural blend. After lunch at a local restaurant, head north to Rabat — Morocco's refined administrative capital. An orientation tour takes in the Royal Palace, the Mohamed V Mausoleum, the ancient Hassan Tower, the atmospheric Kasbah des Oudayas and the Chellah necropolis. Explore the medina and its souks. Day 3: Walls, Gates & Roman Ruins

After breakfast, depart for Meknes — the great Ismaili imperial capital enclosed by an extraordinary 40 kilometres of monumental walls. Visit the triumphant Bab Mansour gate, widely considered the finest gate in Morocco, the vast royal stables that once housed 12,000 horses, and the historic Jewish mellah quarter. Continue to the magnificent Roman ruins of Volubilis — one of the best-preserved Roman sites in all of Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where extraordinary floor mosaics and ancient columns rise from the Moroccan plain in remarkable condition. The scale and quality of what has survived is genuinely breathtaking. Continue east to Fez, check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner.

A full day dedicated to Fez — Morocco's oldest imperial city and the most complete medieval Islamic city surviving anywhere on earth. Begin in the medieval medina, founded in the 8th century, where the ancient Andalusian Mosque and the Al-Quaraouiyine University — the oldest continuously operating university in the world — sit alongside ornate madrasas and the celebrated Nejjarine fountain. After a traditional Moroccan lunch, explore the old medina's craftsmen's quarter — tanners, weavers, coppersmiths and carpenters working exactly as their ancestors did centuries before. After breakfast, depart Fez and head south towards Marrakech via one of Morocco's most scenic and surprising routes. The road passes through Immouzer Kandar — a charming Berber village set among apple orchards and cedar forests — before reaching Ifrane, the extraordinary mountain town known as the Switzerland of Morocco for its Alpine-style chalets, manicured gardens and ski station perched in the Middle Atlas. The contrast with the medieval medinas of the north could not be more dramatic. Continue south through changing landscapes towards Marrakech, stopping for lunch en route. Arrive in the Pink City in the late afternoon, check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

A full day to immerse yourself in Marrakech — the Pearl of the South and Morocco's second oldest imperial city, founded by the Almoravids at the end of the 11th century. The morning takes in the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, the serene Ménara Gardens, the haunting Saadian Tombs — rediscovered in 1917 after centuries of concealment — and the lavish Bahia Palace, built to be the grandest palace of its time. Lunch is at your leisure. The route leads to Setti Fatma, a favourite escape for Moroccans and a place of genuine natural beauty, renowned for its seven waterfalls and dramatic green cliffs. Hike with a local guide to the first waterfall and take in the extraordinary views of the surrounding Atlas peaks and valley below.
