Route

Papagayo Peninsula , Manuel Antonio NP, Osa Peninsula, San Jose

Few destinations on earth deliver romance as instinctively, or as completely, as Costa Rica. This extraordinary nine-night honeymoon journey moves through three of the country's most breathtaking regions — each one distinct in character, each one unforgettable in its own right. Begin on the sun-drenched shores of Guanacaste's Peninsula Papagayo, where the Four Seasons sets an impossibly high benchmark for arrival. Journey south to the jungle-draped hillsides of Manuel Antonio, where wildlife, wellness, and white-sand beaches converge in perfect harmony. Finally, venture deep into the remote wilderness of Drake Bay, where the Osa Peninsula's ancient rainforest meets the Pacific in a setting of rare and humbling beauty. Seamlessly paced, superbly accommodated, and rich with once-in-a-lifetime moments, this is Costa Rica experienced as it was always meant to be — intimately, luxuriously, and entirely together.

Itinerary

Day
1

Day 1: Arrival in Guanacaste

Touch down at Liberia International Airport and surrender to the rhythm of pura vida from the very first moment. A seamless private transfer whisks you to your luxury romantic hotel on Peninsula Papagayo, one of Central America's most celebrated luxury regions, perched dramatically between two pristine Pacific beaches. Check into your beautifully appointed suite — howler monkeys may well be your welcoming committee — before exploring the impeccably landscaped grounds as the sun begins its golden descent. As evening falls, settle in at the ocean-view bar for handcrafted cocktails and a spectacular Pacific sunset, the perfect prelude to nine unforgettable nights in one of the world's most romantically charged destinations.

Day
2

Day 2: Spa, Snorkelling & Sunset Sailing

Begin the morning in pure indulgence with a spa treatment at your hotel, where treatments draw on indigenous Costa Rican botanicals and oceanfront serenity. Afterwards, make your way to the resort's beach — one of Guanacaste's most pristine coves — where vibrant reef life waits just beneath the surface. Spend the afternoon snorkelling in crystalline waters before the day reaches its romantic crescendo: a private sunset catamaran cruise along the Papagayo Gulf. Sip chilled champagne as the coastline glows amber and coral, the Pacific horizon stretching endlessly before you. This is honeymoon travel at its most effortlessly luxurious.

Day
3

Day 3: Trail of the Giants & Candlelit Dining

Rise for an early morning yoga session at the resort's open-air ocean shala, where the sound of waves below sets an incomparable scene. Later, join the exclusive Trail of the Giants golf cart tour — a guided journey through the Peninsula Papagayo reserve where white-faced capuchins, iguanas, and scarlet macaws reveal themselves among towering ancient trees. Return to the resort for an afternoon of pure leisure by the infinity pool, cocktails in hand as sailboats drift across the bay. As evening settles, dine at PoroPoro restaurant, where executive chef Nicolas crafts coastal Costa Rican cuisine in a setting that feels quietly, unmistakably extraordinary.

Day
4

Day 4: Transfer to Manuel Antonio

Bid farewell to the Pacific Northwest and embark on a scenic journey south to one of Costa Rica's most celebrated destinations: Manuel Antonio. A comfortable private transfer delivers you to your hotel, where lush rainforest spills down toward the Pacific and the air hums with exotic birdsong. Check into your elegantly appointed suite — panoramic jungle views, curated in-room amenities, and the seamless attentiveness the area is beloved for. Spend the afternoon acclimatizing poolside, with Scarlet Macaws nesting nearby and the scent of tropical blooms drifting on the warm coastal breeze. Welcome to your rainforest romance.

Day
5

Day 5: Manuel Antonio National Park

Set out at dawn with a private naturalist guide for an immersive morning inside Manuel Antonio National Park — one of the world's smallest yet most biodiverse parks, and arguably Costa Rica's most iconic natural treasure. Watch three-toed sloths navigate the canopy overhead, spot white-faced capuchins raiding the shoreline, and listen as your expert guide reveals the extraordinary ecological tapestry surrounding you at every turn. By mid-morning, reach the park's jewel: Playa Manuel Antonio, a sweeping arc of powder-white sand lapped by warm emerald waters. Swim, snorkel, or simply recline in paradise before returning to your hotel for an evening of quiet, well-earned luxury.

Day
6

Day 6: Spa & Private Dinner

Reserve this day entirely for rest, restoration, and each other. Try your resort’s curated wellness menus — begin with a revitalising hydrotherapy circuit before surrendering to a jungle-view couples treatment that draws on locally sourced volcanic minerals and tropical plant extracts. Afterwards, take a leisurely lunch overlooking the treetops before the afternoon unfolds entirely at your own pace: a hammock, a novel, a cold drink by the pool. As the evening sky deepens to indigo, your concierge will have arranged a private candlelit dinner on the terrace — just the two of you, the jungle, and a chef-crafted menu to remember.

Day
7

Day 7: Drake Bay Arrival

A private transfer delivers you to the airstrip for a scenic flight to Drake Bay — a remote coastal settlement on the edge of the Osa Peninsula, one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth. Your intimate boutique lodge, an adults-only retreat with all meals included, awaits with cold towels, tropical welcome drinks, and the kind of personal attentiveness that transforms a stay into a genuine experience. Properties here are celebrated for the warmth and care with which every guest is received — small, owner-run, and deeply invested in making each visit feel entirely personal. Settle into your ocean-view villa, let the sounds of the jungle envelop you, and dine beneath a sky so clear it takes your breath away.

Day
8

Day 8: Corcovado National Park & Dolphin Snorkelling

Today delivers the wildest, most exhilarating experience of the journey. A private naturalist guide leads you into Corcovado National Park — designated by National Geographic as the most biologically intense place on Earth — where tapirs, scarlet macaws, giant anteaters, and four species of monkey share a cathedral of ancient forest that feels utterly primordial. Return to the coast for an afternoon snorkelling excursion through the warm, reef-rich waters of the Osa Peninsula, where spinner dolphins frequently escort the boat on the return crossing to Drake Bay. Back at the Tranquilo Lodge, a gourmet dinner awaits, the day's extraordinary encounters still vivid and alive.

Day
9

Day 9: Final Morning in Drake Bay

Wake one last time to the sounds of howler monkeys and the glittering Pacific beyond your terrace. Linger over a leisurely gourmet breakfast with the lodge team who have made these days so effortlessly magical. Swim one final time in the warm waters of Drake Bay, take a quiet walk along the shoreline, and allow the extraordinary natural beauty of the Osa Peninsula to settle fully into memory before the journey north begins. A private transfer delivers you to San José, where a final night at an elegant boutique hotel in the heart of the city awaits. Dinner at a celebrated local restaurant, a glass of Costa Rican wine, and the quiet, glowing satisfaction of nine extraordinary days well spent.

Day
10

Day 10: Farewell & Private Airport Transfer

A final Costa Rican morning deserves nothing more ambitious than a long, unhurried breakfast at your hotel — fresh tropical fruit, locally roasted coffee, and the particular luminous calm of a romantic getaway drawing to its close. Take a slow walk through the hotel's botanical courtyard, browse the neighbourhood's excellent artisan boutiques, and carry as much of the past ten days as possible — the Pacific sunsets, the jungle canopy, the extraordinary stillness of Drake Bay — into whatever comes next. When the moment arrives, a private transfer delivers you seamlessly to Juan Santamaría International Airport. Costa Rica, at this depth and at this standard, is a country that does not simply leave a mark — it changes, quietly and permanently, the way you understand what travel can be.
