Beginning and ending in Marrakech, one of the great cities of the world, the route sweeps south over the dramatic High Atlas Mountains and into the cinematic landscapes of Ouarzazate, before pushing deeper into the Sahara to spend a night under the stars in a nomadic desert camp. Along the way, UNESCO-listed kasbahs, rose-scented valleys, towering gorges and Berber villages tell the story of a country shaped by centuries of trade, culture and ingenuity. Touch down at Marrakech Menara Airport where your driver will be waiting to welcome you and transfer you directly to your hotel. After checking in and freshening up, the evening is yours to ease into the magic of Morocco at your own pace. Make your way to the legendary Place Jemaa El Fna — the beating heart of Marrakech — where snake charmers, street musicians, storytellers and food stalls create one of the great spectacles of the world. Soak up the atmosphere, take a seat at one of the rooftop cafés overlooking the square, and let the city wash over you. Return to the hotel for a restful first night.

Day 2: Marrakech City Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a full-day exploration of Marrakech — the Pearl of the South and Morocco's second oldest imperial city, founded by the Almoravids in the late 11th century. The morning takes in the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, the serene Ménara Gardens and the hauntingly beautiful Saadian Tombs, before moving on to the ornate splendour of the Bahia Palace. Lunch is at your leisure. The afternoon plunges into the labyrinthine souks and the craftsmen's quarter, where leather workers, weavers and silversmiths ply their trade as they have for centuries. The day closes with a final stroll through the electric atmosphere of Djemaa El Fna square.

Day 3: Marrakech – Ouarzazate

Breakfast at the hotel before departing south over the dramatic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass — one of the great mountain road crossings in Africa, with sweeping views at every bend. On arrival in Ouarzazate, visit the striking Kasbah Tifeltout and the UNESCO-listed Ksar of Aït Benhaddou, one of the finest examples of southern Moroccan earthen architecture and the backdrop for films including Gladiator and Prince of Persia. Lunch is at your leisure. The afternoon continues with a visit to the impressive Kasbah of Taourirt, with time for photographs of its intricate mud-brick towers. Vegan dinner at hotel.

Day 4: Ouarzazate to Merzouga via the Dades & Todra

After breakfast, head east through some of Morocco's most dramatic landscapes. The route passes through Skoura's palm groves and Kelaa M'Gouna — the fragrant Rose City — before entering the Dades Valley and the extraordinary Todra Gorge, where sheer cliff walls rise over 300 metres on either side. Continue through the Jorf oasis and its lush palmeraie to reach Erg Chebbi and the edge of the Sahara. Here, transfer to a 4x4 vehicle to cross the great dunes before mounting a camel for the unforgettable ride through the golden sands to your nomadic camp, arriving just in time for a spectacular desert sunset. Day 5: Merzouga to Ouarzazate via Khamlia & Tinghir

Rise before dawn to watch the sunrise transform the Sahara dunes from deep amber to blazing gold — one of the most breathtaking sights in Morocco. After breakfast at camp, set off by 4x4 across the black desert, following part of the legendary Paris-Dakar rally trail. Visit a nomadic camp to gain an insight into traditional desert life, then continue to Khamlia — a small village of Sudanese Berbers where a live Gnaoua music performance offers a window into this ancient spiritual tradition. Lunch at a local restaurant, then journey west via Tinghir back to Ouarzazate. Vegan dinner and overnight at hotel.

A leisurely breakfast before the return journey north over the High Atlas, retracing the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka route back towards Marrakech. Use the journey to reflect on the extraordinary landscapes, kasbahs and desert horizons of the past few days. Arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon with time to check in, rest and take a final stroll through the medina or enjoy a hammam before dinner. A last evening in the Pink City — savour it.
