The western Galapagos holds some of the archipelago's rarest treasures — a penguin population found nowhere else on Earth, volcanic landscapes still visibly reshaping themselves, and layers of human history tucked into lava rock and mangrove shoreline. This six-day voyage aboard M/C EcoGalaxy, a sustainable catamaran built with the islands' fragile ecosystem in mind, traces a route rich in discovery: Elizabeth Bay's mangrove channels, home to one of only 3,000 remaining Galapagos penguins, the uplifted seafloor of Urbina Bay, and Tagus Cove's volcanic vistas once explored by Charles Darwin himself. Along the way, Albemarle Point's WWII radar ruins and Buccaneer Cove's 17th-century pirate legacy add unexpected historical depth, while Santa Cruz's highland tortoises and Espinoza Point's marine iguana colonies keep the wildlife encounters coming until the very last day — a journey built for eco-conscious travelers seeking the Galapagos at its wildest and most storied.
