Route

Torres del Paine, Colchagua Valley

From the wind-scoured steppe of Patagonia to the sun-drenched vineyards of the Colchagua Valley, this eight-day journey moves through two of Chile's most extraordinary landscapes — and two entirely different ways of experiencing them. Four days in Torres del Paine unfold at your own pace, with a private guide and dedicated vehicle opening the national park far beyond what most visitors see — glaciers, wildlife, granite towers, and the particular silence of the southern wilderness. Then a flight north brings an elegant change of register: one of South America's most celebrated wine regions, where world-class estate hotels, private tastings, and farm-to-table dining define the unhurried rhythms of Chilean wine country. Adventure and refinement, wilderness and elegance — Chile, experienced exactly as it should be.

Itinerary

Day
1

Day 1: Patagonia: Arrival at the Edge of the World

Arrive into Puerto Natales, gateway to Chilean Patagonia, and transfer through landscapes that announce immediately what this region is — vast, windswept, and unlike anywhere else on earth. Settle into your lodge on the private reserve bordering Torres del Paine, where floor-to-ceiling windows frame the Paine massif and the steppe stretches to the horizon. Each guest here is paired with a private guide and dedicated vehicle, ensuring the days ahead are shaped entirely around your pace and preferences. As the evening light catches the granite towers, dinner draws on the finest Patagonian ingredients paired with Chilean wine — a quietly magnificent introduction to the days ahead.

Day 2: Torres del Paine: Into the Park

Your first full day in Torres del Paine unfolds entirely on your own terms. With a private guide and 4x4, the national park opens up beyond the reach of the crowds — emerald lakes, distant glaciers, valleys where guanacos graze and condors ride thermals overhead. Whether you choose active hiking to panoramic viewpoints or a more leisurely drive through the dramatic interior, the landscape delivers at every turn. Return to the lodge as the light fades for a gourmet dinner and, if the skies are clear, an evening of stargazing beneath one of the southern hemisphere's most extraordinary canopies.

Day 3: Torres del Paine: Deeper into the Wilderness

Another day, another expedition shaped around your interests. Today might bring you to the base of the iconic Torres themselves — granite towers soaring above turquoise glacial lakes in a scene that no photograph quite prepares you for. Or your guide may take you deeper into the private reserve, where birdwatching, photography, and the particular silence of untouched Patagonia fill the hours. Back at the lodge, the fire, the wine, and the stories exchanged over a curated tasting menu make for the kind of evening that stays with you long after the journey ends.

Day 4: Torres del Paine: A Final Day in the Wild

A last day in Patagonia, and the options remain as expansive as the landscape itself. A scenic drive to Grey Glacier and a boat ride to its towering ice walls; a horseback ride across the open steppe; or a shorter morning hike followed by a long, unhurried afternoon at the lodge. Every detail — a gourmet picnic in the wild, a private sunset viewpoint over the massif — is handled without fuss. One last Patagonian dinner as the stars appear overhead, and the first chapter of this journey draws to a close.

Day

Day 5: Santiago & the Colchagua Valley

A morning transfer to Puerto Natales Airport for the flight north to Santiago, then onward into the Colchagua Valley — one of South America's most celebrated wine regions, and a complete change of register after the raw drama of Patagonia. The valley's rolling hills, red clay soils, and dense vine rows announce immediately that this is serious wine country. Your estate hotel sets the tone: world-class design, vineyard views in every direction, and a kitchen that takes the surrounding terroir as its starting point. A walk through the vines, an afternoon by the pool, and a dinner of exceptional local produce paired with the valley's finest wines ease you gently into this quieter, more indulgent chapter of the journey.

Day
6

Day 6: Colchagua Valley: Into the Vines

A day immersed in the culture and craft of Chilean winemaking at its most serious. A guided tour through the estate vineyards — Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah thriving in the valley's warm continental climate — leads into the production cellar before a private tasting of premium vintages paired with artisan cheeses or a long farm-to-table lunch. The afternoon is yours: the gardens, a bicycle through the countryside, or simply a glass of wine and the particular pleasure of having nowhere pressing to be. Few days on any itinerary are as effortlessly enjoyable as this one.

Day
7

Day 7: Colchagua Valley: Huaso Culture & Vineyard Calm

The valley's surroundings offer as much as the estate itself. Today might bring a horseback ride with local huaso guides across the rolling countryside — a deeply Chilean experience in a region where the cowboy tradition runs as deep as the vines. Alternatively, explore neighboring estates on a private tasting circuit, or make the short drive to the colonial town of Santa Cruz, home to the outstanding Colchagua Museum and one of Chile's finest collections of pre-Columbian and independence-era artefacts. Return to the estate as the afternoon settles, a final glass in the vineyard, and one last dinner in the Chilean countryside before tomorrow's departure.

Day
8

Day 8: Farewell Chile

A final breakfast among the vines before the transfer to Santiago Airport and your onward flight. This journey has moved through two of Chile's most extraordinary expressions — the wild, untamed grandeur of Torres del Paine and the refined, sun-warmed elegance of the Colchagua Valley — and left little of the country's character unexplored. The memories tend to arrive in pairs: glaciers and vineyards, condors and Carménère, granite towers and vine-covered hillsides. Chile has a way of staying with those who visit it properly.
